Computer viruses can do everything from slow down your computer to destroying all the data on your hard drive. They enter your computer through e-mail attachments or secretly as you surf the web. Every computer is vulnerable and every computer user must take steps to protect their computer. No computer should be without some sort of virus protection software. They are reasonably inexpensive, but they must be regularly updated as new computer viruses are identified. The best programs, AVG, McAffee and Norton are sold with automatic updates and the ability to renew your subscription annually. They contain firewalls and e-mail scanners that find and destroy viruses that are attempting to enter your computer. You can also schedule complete scans of your computer and the programs will automatically go on line to get updates. Everyone should have some sort of computer virus protection.

SPAM, SPAM, what to do about SPAM. Everyday when I turn on my computer and check my e-mail, I find over 50 pieces of spam tucked in among the e-mail I really want to read. then I happily watch them go away without lifting a finger. That's because I have a computer based spam fitter software program that works with Outlook. This is one of two ways you can eliminate SPAM from your e-mail. The other is a server based spam filter that eliminates SPAM before it even reaches your computer. Both ways work well and both have their advantages and disadvantages.
